The main Malibu surfing location, running from the Malibu Lagoon to the pier is divided into three major areas or “points”. First Point boasts long waves that break evenly and is favored by long boarders. In the late 1970s First Point Skateboards opened its doors in Malibu, catering for locals who wanted to ride the sidewalks instead of the waves. It was Malibu’s first skate store and became a hub for skaters and surfers alike during the early 1980s.
